Remote Controlled Recovery

Some recoveries can't be done with a traditional recovery truck alone. A vehicle might be locked in gear, badly damaged, or parked deep inside an underground car park with no room to get a truck anywhere near it. That's where First Mover comes in.

First Mover is a remote controlled robotic recovery unit. It slides underneath the vehicle, lifts it by its wheels, and moves it safely out to our waiting recovery truck, without the vehicle ever needing to roll on its own wheels.

When You Need First Mover

Electric Vehicles

Many electric vehicles shouldn't be towed with their wheels turning. First Mover lifts the vehicle by its wheels so it can be moved without risk to the motors or drivetrain, and the unit is electrically isolated from the vehicle it's carrying.

Vehicles That Won't Roll

If a vehicle is stuck in gear, has an electronic handbrake that won't release, or has been damaged in an accident, it can't simply be winched. First Mover picks it up and moves it regardless of which way it's facing.

Underground & Tight Spaces

Low ceilings and tight turns mean a recovery truck often can't get into underground or multi-storey car parks. First Mover goes in, collects the vehicle and brings it out to where our truck is waiting.

How It Works

A safe, controlled recovery handled by a single trained operator

Remote Controlled

Our operator drives First Mover by remote control, keeping a clear view of the vehicle and its surroundings at all times.

Slides Underneath

The pickup platform slides under the vehicle from whichever direction there's room, so it doesn't matter how the vehicle is parked.

Lifts by the Wheels

The vehicle is lifted by its wheels, with nothing attached to the bodywork. It handles wheelbases from 1.6m up to around 3.6m.

Onto Our Truck

Once it's clear, the vehicle is loaded onto our recovery truck and taken wherever you need it to go.
